Root Canal Treatment VS. Root Canal Surgery

Everyday meet a lot different cases of patient. For example, implants, veneers, crowning, scaling and polishing, and etc.

There's a lot of patients don't understand what is the different between root canal treatment and root canal surgery. Well, I would like to make some explaination and give vent about this 2 cases. Do you got to know what is the meaning of "treatment" and "surgery". Treatment means therapy while surgery means treatment as an operation.

Root Canal Treatment is to gain access to the diseased pulp by drilling a hole into the tooth. The dentist has to clean the tight and tiny canals inside each individual root. It costs $200 and above. The price is depending on the roots and the difficulities. No medisave claimable.

Root canal surgery is surgical removal of root tip after failure of root canal treatment. It costs about $800 and its medisave claimable.
